Gardening Workshop
On Friday the 15 of May pupils from Rang a 1,2 agus a 3 attended a Gardeing Workshop in the Sean Lemass Library, Shannon. The workshop was organised by a class of Adult Learners from the Shannon LCETB Adult Learning centre.
The event kicked off with guest speaker Conor Leyden, Environmental Officer Clare County Council, with a presentation on the importance of reducing food waste.
The children participated in lots of fun activities to experience food growing for themselves, and during the event sampled an assortment of tasty and nutritious fruit and vegetable snacks. The young gardeners left the workshop with a bunch of edible plants and a home grown scarecrow for their school garden.
Bhí an-lá acu ar fad!
Lá Gorm
May 20th, 2015MPS Awareness Day
On Friday May 15th pupils came to school dressed in blue to show their support for Ethan; a very brave boy who suffers from a rare disease, MPS. Many sporting groups, companies, schools and people from around Shannon wore blue for the day as a way of raising awareness and funds to order to help find a cure.
We were delighted that our school could help and be involved and we thank all our parents and children for the effort made and money donated. All proceeds go to The MPS Society (ref. to:www.justgiving.com/ethansmps for more details).
